after months of not posting, I am posting.  woo.

so, not being in school so totally IS all it's cracked up to be.  I love it.  I fully encourage anyone who is contemplating dropping out of school to go for it.  that's my pearl of wisdom for the day.

you know what I'm getting pumped about?  christmas.  that's what.  twinkle lights and gingerbread and festive cocktails and cheesy music and decorations and the smell of pine... and all the rest.  I love it deeply and truely.

what the hey, here's another little pearly for ya, learned from recent experience: Sake is best served hot.  not cold with lemon.  fyi.

and in conclusion, here is a list of some other things that I have learned recently:

1) noodles are a wonderful and versatile thing -- served crispy, bowl-style, 'bun', stir-fried, all very enjoyable to order at restaurants or cook at home.  delicious.

2) vietnamese food is a heavenly treat.  heavenly.

3) 'Ginger' is my new favorite restaurant

and breaking from the food theme,

4) David Sedaris is a fabulous and HI-larious author.  read his books

5) if you put up a sign at your work that says "cell phone free zone", you may as well have put up a sign that says "please bore me to death with details and anecdotes illustrating how much you hate cell phones."  because that's what every person who sees the sign will do, unless they are on the phone.  seriously.

6) CBC has an online radio station (CBC radio 3) that plays only new canadian music, commercial free.  I think I was the last person in the country to discover its existence.

7) that's all

shhh... I'm writing at work.

so, I quit my shitty-ass telemarketing job that was rotting my soul!  Hurrah!  Now I am working at a lovely, easy, friendly job.  Terrif.

one thing about this job, though, is that I have a lot of time to sit at a computer and do nothing much, and I am running out of interesting, mildly entertaining, or even somewhat bland sites with which to pass my time.  I need sugestions!  Also, they can't be anything sick or wierd or creepy, cause my boss can walk by at any time.  Help me!

ooh, got to go.

ps. I love gnarles barkly

okay, after a month of no xanga entries, I have decided to write.

So, my life right now:
1) part time customer service (love it)
2) part time telemarketer (hate it)
3) full time dog owner (a LOT of work)
4) part time paper-writer (but not actually, cause of items 1 to 3)

*time spent considering not going back to school in the fall: most of it

*time spent wishing I was less busy: most of it

*time spent being annoyed at the telemarketing situation: a lot

*time spent secretly smug because in spite of hating telemarketing, I rule at it: a LOT

Ooh, also, we're moving into a kick-ass new apartment in a month! Yessssssssss.

You know where a good place to hang out is? --> Winners. I find myself hanging out there a lot. Who woulda thought?

NEWSFLASH: Rob was bored yesterday, and guess where he made me go with him?

THE MALL.

wha!?

yep, just to look around.

people never cease to amaze me.
